Bad Horse will be playing the second gig with new drummer Martin Packer this coming Friday February 21st at The Tin at the Coal Vaults (Taylor John’s House).
Joining us are country/Americana wonders Dark Actors, and the awesome Sequins spin-off band Late Starters.
If anyone should want to buy tickets in advance, then they’re available here: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/256708 for an incredibly good price.
Hope to be seeing faces in that there crowd…
This Friday (the 11th), we’ll be trying out Rugby for size by playing at Verve Bar.
Our select and elite Rugby fans are inherently expected and obliged (the 7.20s). Whereas everyone else will be encouraged and exhorted – maybe even censured.
If anyone does fancy a trip out of Coventry City, let us know and maybe we can coordinate something. Showtime to be posted…
Love Bad Horse x
Hello fine fellows,
This Sunday the 23rd of October OXJAM returns with more than 25 local bands/artists playing across 3 venues for only £5 a ticket – and the proceeds going to OXFAM.
Bad Horse will be playing the GOLDEN CROSS during the evening, and I can but urge you all to come down and see the great variety of bands all contributing to the show.
Let’s make Sunday the new Saturday…
As part of an all-dayer with bands including Glassguns, Raffle and Nukebox from 1pm this Sunday – Bad Horse will be playing the first Coventry gig with new songs and new bassist Dan.
Money raised will go toward a head stone in memory of Becka who is sadly not here to celebrate her 27th birthday – but will develop a cavalry of friends and music fans alike to enjoy the day in her favourite hang-out. And then anything beyond the cost of the stone will go to Myton Hospice so make sure you get down and pay the mere £2 charge on the door!
Will be great to see as many people down as possible to have a cracking great sunday! Bad Horse will take to the stage at 6pm.
Things may have seemed a little quiet on the Bad Horse front recently but I can confirm that we’ve been using the time productively to wile away on our next plan of attack…
We have a new member to officially welcome to the band – Dan Hisgett – who we’ve pinched from We Are The Dead to play bass with us after Martin met a sticky end on a cycling trip. We thought it would be rather fitting to swop the two over and mix our bands according to mortality.
Martin hasn’t died I hasten to add, and can instead confirm that he has been making a swifty recovery.
Now, some news on the gig front… Along with Dan we’ve been spending the time since our last appearance at the Kasbah to write new songs and prepare to give you all a fresh set of material. We’ve mostly done that (sticking with a couple of songs you may know) and we’re set to play Inspire Cafe Bar this Sunday, the 4th of September (details to follow on our facebook page).
Then on Monday the 5th we’re gonna be at the Dublin Castle in Camden set to play at around 10.15. If you’re interested in travelling down from the Midlands, please let us know so we can see about arranging a minibus… It would be a great pleasure to have some Horse fans down to share an evening in London town with us, especially as this is our first gig in the city.
And the only other bit of news for you is that we’re planning to record new tracks later in September and release a new EP on La Nouvelle Mode records, and we can guarantee you one hell of a launch party to go with it!
Looking forward to sharing the love and music with you guys, mucho amor…
Friday the 1st!
Ok so we didn’t make it to the festival stage (partially due to power politics and venue variations) – but we’re highly looking forward to playing for you on friday night down at Rosie Malone’s 🙂
After you, us and everyone else finishes up watching the bands in the park, it’ll be time to gravitate towards town – where you can find even more live music…
Alongside Absent Friends and Flygone, we are due on stage at around 11pm – but you might want to make sure you get yourself down nearer to 10 so you don’t miss out on your free shot at the door 😉 Alcohol.
~ 2-4-1 on Fosters, Strongbow and VS bottles ~
Hello Horse fans!
Hope you are all ready for the next gig which comes your way this Saturday June 25th at Coventry Kasbah. We’ve got a couple of new songs for you and we’re up playing alongside our Rugby friends the 7.20s.
The stage time is scheduled for about 10.30 but it might be best if you come down a bit earlier (just in case by some rare off chance the night runs ahead of time).
Will be great to see as many of you down as possible, and whatsmore it will help us to build up a good relationship with the venue.
See yous later! x
Last night (Friday 10th), BBC Introducing on Coventry and Warwick aired an hour long show featuring Bad Horse.
On the show we’re interviewed about how we started up, why we make music, and what we’re trying to achieve; before a random round is fired on childhood traumas and ski-pant obsessions… They may not have asked the questions, but they certainly got the answers!
You can catch the show here:
Or again tonight at 8pm on BBC Cov and Warwick…
This Saturday 23rd we’ll be doing the last gig in the run of our recent bookings – having no more booked for a little while. And since it’s a part of the St George’s Day celebrations, we have a little treat for you all regarding some interesting set variations 🙂
Also on the bill is funk/soul 9 piece Brothers and Sisters, coming down from Manchester especially for the occasion. And I must say that it’s looking like a right cracking weekend ahead!
The evening kicks off at around 8 o’clock – let’s hope to see bums on seats and bodies in spires 😉
In celebration of Brendan Matthew John Casey’s birthday, we’ll be playing tonight at Taylor John’s alongside Tenebrous Liar, Thoria, Invitation To Love and Dreaded Real Admiral…
Are ya comin’?
